ABOUT US
Keegin Harrison LLP has served the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 50 years. Our first offices were in the historic Albert Building at 4th and B Streets in San Rafael. In 1971, the firm moved one block east to our present location at 1000 4th Street, the site of the old Marin County Courthouse.
Since inception, the firm has been known for our real estate and commercial litigation practice, representing individuals, businesses and non-profit entities at the trial and appellate levels of California and federal courts. The firm’s litigation attorneys have particular expertise in alternative dispute resolution, and they have a long record of concluding disputes promptly and cost-efficiently.
The firm is well known for our expertise in land use planning. We were involved in many of the major developments that can be seen along Highway 101, and we continue to guide homeowners, developers, and neighboring landowners through the regulatory and approval process. Our attorneys routinely appear on land use matters before planning commissions, city councils and other regulatory bodies throughout Northern California.
Keegin Harrison LLP has long been considered the premier Marin County law firm for sophisticated and complex business counseling in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate, partnership and limited liability entity formation and governance, intellectual property, and securities law. Our transactional expertise extends to real estate matters, including the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements, leases and financing documents. As an important part of our business counseling practice, the firm also regularly advises clients on labor and employment law issues.
The firm is recognized for its legal services to the Marin County medical community. We successfully defended Marin General Hospital in the lawsuit brought by the Marin Healthcare District to nullify the long-term lease under which the hospital formerly operated. More generally, we act as general counsel to many local medical practices and have represented healthcare industry clients in significant acquisitions, dispositions and facility leases.
In the early 1990s, the firm began offering a full range of estate planning and family wealth transfer services. Those services include advice on gift and estate taxes, preparation of wills, trusts and similar instruments, and related estate and trust administration services.
Throughout the firm’s history, our attorneys have been dedicated to community service, holding elected and appointed positions on local and regional governmental bodies and serving in leadership roles with business, professional and non-profit organizations.
